Object Rotterdam 2010: International fair for autonomous design
4th-7th February ’10
Cruise Terminal Rotterdam
Rotterdam, Netherlands
The mood was high at the opening of Object Rotterdam on Wednesday the 3rd of February, with many at the private view remarking that it is as good, or even better than some of the major fairs.
This young fair is now in its 3rd year, and while it began as a Dutch-only satellite event of Art Rotterdam (now in its 11th year) it has quickly expanded into the international market to include such notable galleries as the Apartment London, the Rabih Hage Gallery London, and Plus Design Milan.
This year 22 participants are exhibiting work, but the event still has an intimate and personable feel to it. Object Rotterdam certainly seems to be a fair to watch in the future as a source of new and genuine autonomous design.
Here are some shots from the opening to give you a taste of the venue. Keep checking our Current Exhibition page for our complete coverage of the event.
