Droog Townhouse
1st - 5th December ’09
Design Miami
At this year’s Design Miami, Droog is presenting Townhouse, a fantastic interior design furnished entirely with Droog products.
The Townhouse was commissioned by Amsterdam housing association Ymere and designed by Tokyo-based Atelier Bow-Wow. Inside, is a seamless environment of classic Droog style.
The project was imagined for a single contemporary family, or as a VIP guesthouse, and it presents an ingenius combination of intimacy and community in its particular lay-out. On the one hand, communal rooms are arranged within a seamless flow of spaces; each has its own function, but they are all merged together into an open environment around the central axis of the structure. On the other hand, the private rooms such as the master bedroom, guest bedroom, bath and balcony are amply separated from the open spaces by sound-proof walls.
Droog products ranging from throughout the workshop’s notable existence, including Tejo Remy’s ‘Ragchair’ and ‘Milk Bottle Lamp’ as well as the ‘Heat Wave Radiator’ by Joris Laarman compliment this innovative space to create a truly contemporary environment.
