On the 21st of November, Phillips de Pury & Company in London will hold MUSIC, the third sale in their series of themed sales that began with NOW back in September. This upcoming sale will offer music-inspired works of contemporary art, design, editions, photography, and memorabilia.
Highlight pieces on offer include a set of eight ‘Komed’ chairs by Marc Newson c. 1966. The sale also includes works by such notable artists and designers as Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol, Helmut Newton, Martin Kippenberger, Verner Panton and David Lachapelle.
With these themed auctions, Phillips de Pury & Company is attempting to present selections of art, photography, and design, reflective of certain themes in contemporary culture. MUSIC focuses on the strength of the contemporary brand and celebrity. Interestingly, MUSIC also will be the first auction ever held with live music.
