The New Modernists

For the second in the series of Design Tribe exhibitions, inspired by the first edition of Max Fraser’s London Design Guide, Viaduct presents “The New Modernists”.

Featuring new work from some of the most influential names in modern furniture design, including Maarten Van Severen, Naoto Fukasawa, Shigeru Ban, Stefan Diez, Arik Levy, and Jasper Morrison, the exhibition explores a group of designers who reference the focused language of their Modernist predecessors.

Much of the output of the New Modernists concerns itself with the age old ‘form follows function’ while capturing the essence of simplicity and sophistication, avoiding all traces of unnecessary ornament and pattern.
