Denmark Exchanges Old Masters For New Designers
Danish design has come a long way in the last five to ten years and Henrik Høyer and Mads Arlien-Søborg the organisers of Grand Danois realised that the world hadn’t quite woken up to
this fact.
In a 220 metre square space in Zona Tortona, Grand Danois will exhibit products by new style Danish designers including FurnID, Gam plus Fratesi, and Muuto, illustrating how a new generation has taken a superb
set of traditional design values mixed them with new materials and
techniques (as well as a new-found optimism) and created a whole new
meaning for "Danish Design".
The Grand Danois initiative is organized by Yellow Ducks in partnership with the Danish Industry (The Confederation of Danish industries) and the Association of Danish Woodworking and Furniture Industries.
