Marcus Tremonto: New Work for Rossana Orlandi
22nd - 27th April '09
Spazio Rossana Orlandi
VIA MATTEO BANDELLO 14/16, MILAN
For this year’s Milan Design Week, Marcus Tremonto presents his latest series of dazzling furniture pieces comprising a range of lights, tables and wall pieces.
The impressive collection of work, including Paper Landscape Lights and Plug-in Table II explores a thread of architecturally referenced imagery and adaptable works.
The Paper landscape pieces are a series of adaptable lighting systems inspired by somewhait primitive technology first used to generate topographic digital landscapes. The lights take a single slice of a digital landscape as their imagery, which can be adapted as the user sees fit. Multiple lights can be aligned together to create large overhead digital landscapes.
Plug-in Table II is a system based table that explores the concept of being able to use wall pieces as center pieces, instead of the traditional flowers and vases. All four of the inserts to the table can also be hung as paintings. Each of the inserts are based on architectural imagery.
