Paris/ Design in Mutation
17th April - 30th August '09
Espace Fondation EDF
6 rue Récamier, Paris
As a continuation of their commitment to design and innovation the Fondation EDF presents ‘Paris/ Design in Mutation’.
Taking the question of mutations for its main theme, the exhibition features the work of eleven designers or collectives, who were selected as forerunners or leaders of the different currents of new generation Parisian design.
Works exhibited include Matali Crasset’s ‘Another Logic of eating ritual, originally designed and exhibited at the Rabih Hage Gallery, Mathiew Lehanneur’s oxygen generator for habitat and even a whimsical multi-socket power point to symbolize ‘wastefulness’ in domestic appliances, by EDF Design.
In this discovery tour of research turned toward the world of tomorrow, intelligence, humour and poetry come together to open new ways forward, and enable us to catch glimpses of what the objects that compose living space will be in the near future.
