For the occasion of this year’s Milan Design Week, internationally renowned Dutch designer Maarten Baas takes on the role of film director for his project Real-Time: Clock-movies.
Produced in conjunction with Diana Marrone, the exhibition will encompass more than 500 square meters and will include 3 movies, directed by Baas, based on time passing – each shot and mounted in the Netherlands between February and March 2009.
The passing of the time within the clock is projected by a multitude of people who were shot and screened in real-time intervals of 12 and 24 hours – allowing visitors to witness an exceptional rendering of time passing.
3D prototypes of Baas’ latest clocks will be shown alongside the movies. and will work as a rough description for Baas’ notion of time counters.
