Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2009

For its second year running the shortlist for the Brit Insurance Designs of the year Award will be on show at the Design Museum, London.
The exhibition will present around 100 projects which are a selection from those nominated by a group of internationally respected design experts, curators, critics, practitioners, and enthusiasts.
Projects nominated, among others, include Jar Tops by Jorre van Ast, Cloud, digital Sculputure, by Troika, Fig Leaf Cabinet by Tord Boontje, Surface Table by Terence Woodgate and John Barnard, and Obama Poster by Shepard Fairey.
From this comprehensive list spanning seven categories: Architecture, Fashion, Furniture, Graphics, Interactive, Product and Transport., the panel, chaired by Alan Yentob and including the designer and environmentalist Karen Blincoe, and the architect Peter Cook, will decide the category winners in each of the seven disciplines to be announced at the end of February. These finalists will go forward to vie for the 2009 Brit Insurance Design of the Year, to be revealed at the Awards Dinner on 18 March 2009.
