Open Invitation for Proposals: The Recycling-Lights Exhibition

The Slovenian Lighting Guerrilla and Serbian Belgrade of Light festivals announce an open invitation for proposals for their upcoming exhibition Recycling-Lights.

Entrants are invited to submit a lighting design inspired by the connection between recycling and light. The proposed products should be finished and functional (lighting) objects.
 
This unique opportunity to design a light which will be exhibited in both festivals, is open to all and will be judged by an expert jury.

The theme of the exhibition aims to explore the phenomenon of light in order to emphasise the importance of light and energy, paying particular attention to the preservation of our surroundings, the saving of energy, and research into creative recycling and sustainable design.
 
Among the chosen works, two best products will win financial awards of purchasing for 500 Euros and 400 Euros, respectively. The organiser will also cover travel expenses to the winning artists (in the maximum sum of 400 Euros) and two overnight stays in Ljubljana (23 and 24 June). 
 
The Recycling-Lights exhibition will be a selling exhibition. The all designers will be asked to decide upon the selling price of their works. 

The Ljubljana exhibition will be opened from 23 June to 18 July 2009.
 
The Belgrade of Light festival exhibition will be opened at the recently launched Grad Cultural Centre in Belgrade from 6 to 20 September 2009.
