If you are heading down to this year’s imm cologne be sure to check out Stephen Burks’ Composite Lounge.
Located in hall 11, the lounge is highly representative of the ecological and artisanal’s aspects of Burks’ work.
Combining urban elements such as street lamps and huge dumpsters, with a motley collection of piled up new sofas and seats, Burks’ latest project raises the question if the enormous abundance of industrially produced mass furniture is in fact compatible with the demands of sustainable economic activities. Certainly a pertinent question for a furniture fair.
