Rough Luxe Hotel
1Birkenhead Street, London
Just a step away from King’s Cross station and tucked away down a quiet side street is a fabulously eclectic hotel which gives a whole new meaning to the word luxury.
Designed by London based designer and gallery owner Rabih Hage, the 9 room hotel
is a hidden gem embracing the thick stratigraphy of a well lived, well loved georgian terraced house.
The fascinating blend of urban archaeology, partially sanded surfaces, bare floorboards, chipped paint and rough edges mingled with gloriously opulent contemporary wallpaper, furnishings and modern art is exactly what the name suggests. It is a place where the rough and luxe live harmoniously.
Guests at the Rough Luxe hotel might share a bathroom or have a small room, but the luxury is in the choice of the wine, the bed linen, the art on the walls and the people looking after you.
The hotel is connected to an art gallery in the courtyard behind, where there is also a outdoor coffee bar.
The hotel is the flagship for a new Rough Luxe Network of hotels, restaurants, shops and excursions.
