Arne Quinze: The Sequence
16th - 18th November 2008
The Flemmish Parliament
Brussels, Belgium
Opening this weekend, situated in the area crossing the Flemish Parliament with The House of Representatives, will be designer Arne Quinze's new light and soundscape installation 'The Sequence'.
Stretching 80 metres wide by 15 metres high, the piece is intended to generate movement in the city of Brussels by acting both physically and symbolically as a bridge between the public and and the government neighbours.
Created as a prompt for communication as people pass through, the installation is typical of Quinze's passion to connect people through design.
Following on from last year's 'Cityscape' installation which was intended to revive a neglected neighbourhood of the capital, 'The Sequence' is expected to be an equally impressive sculpture at the heart of urban dwelling.
The installation officially opens on 16th November and is projected to remain for five years.
