Interior / Exterior : Living Spaces in the Arts
29th November '08 - 13th April '09
Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg
Germany
Taking the form of a large-scale thematic installation, this exhibition will look at interior space as a place of artistic and personal expression, combining it with modern day concepts of living in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
Featuring the works of 70 artists and designers, Interior / Exterior aims to create a dialogue between the disciplines of art, design and lifestyle by exploring the era of
Romantic art through to the modernist interiors of Bauhaus, and finishing with innovative concepts for future housing.
Visitors to the exhibition can expect to see the theme 'habitation' explored thoroughly through paintings, sculptures and installations, as well as reconstructed interiors, historical and contemporary furniture, photographs, videos and digital animations.
