Resting Places Living Things: Designs by Michael Cross
18th October 2008 - 1st February 2009
45th and Oak Street,
Kansas City, MO
Michael Cross, Acclaimed British designer, will see his first American exhibition when Resting Places Living Things opens in The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art later this month.
The exhibition by the British designer and Royal College of Art graduate, will showcase a new collection of works that are expected to take over the Project Space in ways that challenge its structural parameters.
Having already built a reputation in the UK producing designs that strip away viewer's preconceptions and deliberately confound expectations, 'Resting Places Living Things' will bring the collection to a fresh audience with works including the Flood Light series, flooring that is representative of natural and organic terrain and a series of chairs that respond to their environment.
While in Kansas City for the installation, Cross will also be involved in a number of workshops, classes and talks at the nearby Kansas City Art Institute.
