Digital Meets Physical Competition Results
DeTank.tv at Tent London
In August we ran a competition with Tent London, inviting digital artists and designers to submit creative works under the title 'Digital Meets Physical'.
Having selected our favourites from the host of fantastic responses, we then broadcast these in-between interviews at the DeTank.tv Live Studio at Tent London, providing a unique platform for the works to reach new audiences.
We would like to thank all of our participants who entered, in particular Matthew Plummer-Fernandez with 'The Apifera', Nitipak (Dot) Samsen with 'Alive!', Studio Roosegaarde with 'Dune 4.1' and 'Flow 5.0', Tomoaki Yanagisawa with 'Luminos', Chris Woebken with 'New Sensual Interfaces', Alex Brown with 'Pivitol', Suk Lee with 'Star' and Ed Suckling with 'Stripes'.
We would also like to thank Gestalten, our sponsor Philips, and our partners at Tent London.
With such positive feedback from our viewers we thought it only fair to go on to select an overall winner that in our eyes, demonstrated a breadth of talent spanning from innovation of concept through to digital realisation.
So with that said, we would finally like to thank and congratulate recent RCA graduate, Freddie Yauner for his piece entitled 'Signs of Life. Proving things may not always be as they seem, Freddie's imaginative interpretation brings life to an otherwise seemingly static world of objects. We will never look at an exit sign in the same way again!
