Patchwork Series
Amy Hunting
Reminiscent of cottages and quilts, Amy Hunting’s Patchwork series is an elegant solution to scrapwood furniture.
Designed entirely from wood waste and off-cuts that were collected from factories in Denmark, Hunting’s collection is a fascinating exercise in materiality and form.
While challenging the common practice surrounding the reuse and recycling of products, Hunting has creating her own patchwork raw material from the off-cuts and factory waste, which she then turns into a chair, book box and series of 12 lamps – all without the use of any bolts or screws.
All 12 pendant lamps were cut out of one large solid block of wood. The Lamps were cut out until no wood remained.
