Nadia Pedreschi
Obsession/ Control
Nadia Pedreschi, one of the latest graduates from this year's Design Academy Eindhoven Master's Programme, has created a range of everyday objects that aim to relieve the symptoms of those suffering with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Pedreschi’s work entitled ‘Obsession/ Control’ is an investigation into everyday obsessive behaviours that result in daily actions becoming ritualistic. Treating OCD as a magnifying glass, she examines how obsessive behaviour influences the way people interact with objects and the opportunity this creates for design.
As a result of the study, Pedreschi has produced a sensitive collection of subtly altered, everyday objects, that work both by controlling and satisfying people’s obsessions and their desire for ‘orderliness’.
