The Gallery Swing is presenting Lichtkammer, curated by Antonella Palladino, a solo exhibition of Harry Thaler from March 10th - May 5th 2012.
Thaler’s research stems from a confrontation with the elements and materials that have become symbols of identity of a certain place or time.
For Lichtkammer\ Thaler has used precious fabrics from the factory of San Leucio.
Exploring his interest in salvage and sustainable consumption, he uses its waste and scraps of precious fabrics such as damask, lampas and liserè.
Starting from the square shape of the tile floor Thaler has created a series of lamps made of manually folded steel , coated with scraps of silk.
