Fabrica, the Benetton Group’s communication research center, will present the MOBILE MUSEUM staged at the Design Museum in Helsinki as part of Designworld, an exhibition that considers design in terms of the basic needs of man and society, while reflecting the various ways in which design can influence matters in global perspective.
The MOBILE MUSEUM, by Fabrica designers Dean Brown and Philip Bone, is a travelling museum, with contents contributed by people from all over the world and from different backgrounds. Unlike a conventional museum, the collection is always changing and evolving depending on its location, with the location itself dictating the theme.
In 2011 the MOBILE MUSEUM has been presented at the Milan Furniture Fair, at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London as part of the “Friday Late Summer Camp programme” and at the Architecture Museum in Brussels as part of “Design September”. The curatorial theme of the Helsinki’s stage is "The Future".
