'Fossilized' is the first solo US exhibition of work by Jens Praet. The Belgium-born, Florence-based designer works with waste paper and resin, resulting in a material which has the strength of wood, which he then uses to create furniture pieces.

Milan commemorates a hundred years since it became the first European city to have areas illuminated by electric light, with the second edition of the Lighting exhibition Design or LED festival.
Nonobject was founded in 2006 by former IDEO and Frog design leader Branko Lukic, along with Suncica Lukic and Steve Takayama; with the goal of, in their words "conceiving and realizing design experiences at a fundamentally new level." They do this through grounding their multi disciplinary practice in a unique self developed approach, which they have termed "the philosophy of the Nonobject."

As mentioned earlier , Sotheby's New York has just held a week of modern Design auctions, which in total brought in excess of $19 million. The opening sale of the series was 'Fusion: Contemporary Art and Design'.
Daelim Contemporary Art Museum

A major retrospective of pioneering industrial designer Dieter Rams has just opened at Daelim Contemporary Art Museum in Seoul. The show is also part of a three-part exhibition on design leaders that began at Daelim in September entitled 'Three Super Creators'.

Last week Sotheby's held a sale of 'Important 20th Century Design'; part of a week of a week of modern Design auctions held by the firm, which in total brought in excess of $19 million. This figure is the highest total for a week of Design sales at Sotheby’s New York since December 2003.
'Trash Cube' is a collaboration between Swiss industrial designer Nicolas Le Moigne and manufacturer Eternit. Together, using cement that would otherwise have been discarded, they have created these minimalist furniture pieces.
Spigoli Vivi, which translates from the Italian as 'Sharp Edges' is a young design partnership, created in 2009, consisting of Leonardo Fortino and Andrea Bartolucci.
